#Glee vs. Ugly Betty: I HOPE NOT!!

107151_D_0683 It’s no secret. When shows that air on major network television (ABC, NBC, CBS, etc.) get shuffled around like a deck of cards, trouble is brewing. When one of my favorite shows got transported to Friday night television from it’s Wednesday night spot, I had chills filled with fear. Fear that Ugly Betty was on it’s last leg and would soon leave me. I must confess, my nightly rendezvous with Betty and the crew had come to a halt but I refused to let Betty go out the way The Game did, so upon hearing that Betty had moved I became a born again Ugly Betty fan.

Now, I’m hearing that Betty is being moved back to Wednesday nights. I don’t have a problem with that as long as ABC gets the word out properly and let their fans know. My issue is with the time slot. Apparently, the new time will be 10:00 pm, which is way too late! Teens watch Ugly Betty and in a perfect world (one we don’t live in) they should be sleep or at least winding down. Another rumor I heard was that Betty would take over the 9:00 pm slot. One word comes to mind, #Glee (what can I say, I’m a twitterholic). Most of us who love, love, love #Glee, also love, love, love Betty. Both shows feature two lovely curvaceous break out stars who I don’t want to divide my time between. The only logical solution is 8:00 pm. Teens are still wide awake and #Glee and Ugly Betty would be intact.

I’m crossing my fingers that ABC doesn’t do what I fear most which is put these two shows up against each other. For the first time in my lifetime two curvier women are in roles at the same time on network television that women, teens and kids that resemble them can identify with. While many people may have been skeptical of the initial tone of “Ugly Betty”, you can’t deny it’s overall appeal to the little girl in all of us wanting to fit in. #Glee and Ugly Betty deserve a chance to shine and the last thing a plus size diva such as myself should have to worry about is which plus size diva to watch on a Wednesday night.
