How Long Would You Wait To Get Married?
After a half-century courtship that became the most famous love triangle in pop culture, inveterate bachelor Archie Andrews finally proposed to Veronica Lodge, shocking fans worldwide. Last month, the wedding took place, and prompted changes in the lives of just about everyone in Riverdale and all the characters featured in Archie Comics (www.archiecomics.com).
Veronica is a good woman. I don’t think I could wait a half-century for anything especially a man to marry me. It’s as if she only has eyes for him and time was never an issue. Secondly, how did Archie know that Veronica would wait for him? Who’s really that cocky? Obviously Archie was.
Of course Archie and Veronica aren’t “real” people but their situation isn’t unique (only the half-century part). How long should a woman (or man) wait for their love to propose to them and agree to a date to get married? Perhaps one month is enough (Kloe Kardashian & Lamar Odom) or even five years. Some people say you know immediately if the person you’re with is “The One” while others believe in taking their time.
Personally I think it’s a personal decision. No one can tell you how long you should or shouldn’t wait for someone but at the same time if the wait is too long and the feelings regarding taking one’s time is not mutual you have to wonder what you’re missing out on.
