This is a He’s Just Not That Into You reference based on my own experience.
Being the man that he was, he always had women chasing him. He went through women like tissue. But I always thought I was the exception. Not because I read too much into things, but by his actions and the words of others that knew him very well. I was different.
Other women who chased after him knew how special I was. They saw it and occasionally commented on it. Within the 5 years of our on and off relationship we shared magical moments, times where he’d drive from DC to Florida to spend just a weekend with me, or the time when he flew in and surprised me at the airport when I picked up my best friend. Just awesome moments.
The best was the time we slow danced on a crowded dance floor in front of many of his adoring fans and it felt like it was just me and him. But when I spent the night alone in a hotel room I rented for the two of us, with no calls or text messages, I felt less than the exception.
Once again for the 4th time in 2 yrs he would disappear for a month, then show up without an explanation and act like everything was cool. But this time, I changed the rules.
My mom always had a problem with him, feeling that he didn’t do quite enough for someone he claimed he cared for. For 5 yrs I had been more than understanding of the 5 kids he had before there was an us, or the 2 full time jobs, or the school. I believed in him just as much as he believed in me and my modeling career. He was there through my bad engagement situation to someone else, he was there as a friend. However, as I’ve said in many of my articles, I could no longer continue to accept subpar treatment from those I love and say they love me. Trust me I loved this man, still do but he is no longer the exception.
