Winter summer spring and fall
There is a tree that stands tall
Outstretched limbs to the heavens
Branches curved and some even bends
But it stands firm through every season
Good Godly roots can be the only reason
Ghe winds of fall the rains of spring
Gut in the end good fruit it brings
The bitterness of winter the heat of summer
Not perfect but still seen as His majestic wonder
Leaves sprout and grow green
But by fall they change again the tree is lean
Able to provide shade from the storm even for others
And food for the body including my brother’s
By His grace not hollowed just knotted
My neighbor is witness to souls that are rotted
God prunes and waters me
So that my growth in Him will continue to be
A few branches broken
But I stand for it was spoken
For in this forest He sees me
His firmly planted human tree
By His love I did not fall
When the hurricane of life came to call
By His grace I did not break
When lightning of my past gave more than I thought I could take
By His mercy I still grow
The carved cuts of others never truly show
You reap what you sow
For this I know
I’m His seed
Covered by His sacrificing deed
