Oxygen brings viewers yet another television show with their Plus Size Divas in mind. June 29th marked the series premiere of “Dance Your Ass Off”.
Bringing dance and diet together, “Dance Your Ass Off” features talented, full-figured contestants who have one goal in mind – to lose weight. Throughout the shows 10 episode run, expect to really connect with the contestants as we hear of their personal stories, struggles and aspirations. Along with revealing themselves to viewers, we get to see them move while they lose.
TONY Award-winning actress Marissa Jaret Winokur, well known for her role as plus-sized Tracy Turnblad in the hit Broadway musical “Hairspray”, serves as host.
Each contestant is paired with a professional dance partner who trains them for their weekly stage performances. They tackle various forms of dance, ranging from Hip Hop, to Ballroom and even Pole Dancing! Once they learn the routine, they show their moves off to a panel of expert judges. Once the judges score their routines, the contestants weigh in to see how much weight they’ve lost for the week. The score received by the judges and the weight loss are combined for an overall score, which determines who will be sent home each week. The one hour show airs every Monday at 10 pm. ET/PT.
