I can honestly say this is the first book I’ve ever read by Jen Lancaster, but as soon as I was done reading it I went searching for more of her books. Her very witty and at times sarcastic humor will have you laughing while reading all 365 pages. In Pretty in Plaid, readers are introduced to Jen as a young girl and have the pleasure of following her into adulthood. Along the way, readers get to envision what clothing she is wearing, what she idolizes and all the trouble in which she finds herself. With the help of fashion icons as symbols of her youth, we meet Jen through hilarious and insightful stories.
From waiting at the unemployment office with a Prada bag, to how living in the city can actually suck, to how losing weight can be fun with a trainer named Barbie and enough Ambien on hand, Jen takes you on a hilarious and heartwarming trip down memory lane in her shoes (and very pretty ones at that).

I love Jen Lancaster. Her wit, sense of humor and sarcasm make for great writing.
